Foundation  

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has started accepting students since 1969 with the name as Electrical Engineering. During first years the graduates used to get a MScE degree after 5 years of education. The name of the department has been changed to Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1982. The department still holds the name as Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The graduates get the title of Electrical and Electronic Engineer after 4 years of education.
 
Admission & Registration Conditions 
1 - High school diploma,
2 - Obtaining the required grade from National University Entrance and Placement Exam (ÖSS),
3 - English proficiency (500 from TOEFL / 6 from IELTS)
 
Qualification Awarded  
The students who have successfully completed all of the thought courses of the programme with 240 ECTS credits, achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and had a pass grade from the Professional placement period and the report prepared therein are given Bachelor's Degree in ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS
 
Access to Further Studies  
The students who have successfully completed the programme can apply to graduate programmes either at this department or in other higher education institutions provided that they have achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 from the undergraduate degree and obtained a score of at least 60 from ALES (National Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entry Exam) and that the sum of 55% of ALES score and 45% of CGPA of the undergraduate degree is at least 60 out of 100.

The students can also directly apply to doctoral programmes if he or she has a CGPA greater than 3.2 / 4.00 and ALES score of at least 75 and 55 from ÜDS (National University Language Exam) or other similar exams (such as KPDS) provided that the sum of 55% of ALES score, 35% of CGPA of the undergraduate degree and 10% of the verbal exam or interview score is at least 70 out of 100.
 
Department Facilities : 

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has 12 classrooms, one conference Hall, one seminar room, and five laboratory areas. The conference hall, seminar room and two other classrooms are equipped with projectors and are suitable for Power Point presentations. The labs cover a large area and offer experiments for over 14 lectures.
